Overview
/Challenge
Redesigning the Platte County Health Department website meant finding ways to modernize an outdated layout while keeping important health information clear and easy to navigate. With a large amount of content spread across the site, one of the biggest challenges was improving the overall organization and user flow without overwhelming visitors.
/Solution
The redesign focused heavily on accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and readability to better support community members searching for essential services and resources. Throughout the process, the goal was to create a more welcoming and modern experience while still maintaining the professionalism and trust expected from a public health organization.
To solve these challenges, the redesign introduced a cleaner page structure with more intuitive navigation and clearer content hierarchy. Updated typography, spacing, and accessibility-focused color choices helped improve readability across both desktop and mobile devices. The final design created a more user-friendly experience that allows visitors to quickly find important health information, services, and community resources.

The new homepage also created a more modern and community-focused experience through updated typography, organized content sections, and clearer pathways to events, news, and public health resources.
